California Lemon Laws
There are endless amounts of lawyers who specialize in Lemon Laws. That alone should tell you that these laws are being frequently abused. And victims should not be taken advantage of; there are plenty of resources out there to protect them.
California's Lemon Law is also know as the warranty law, and it states that's manufacturers be highly responsible for the quality of their sold products. It almost always refers to the sale of motor vehicles including cars, trucks, RVs, and boats.
However, the vehicle alone is not the only thing that Lemon Laws protect against, vehicle parts are also protected under this law. If a part that was sold with under a warranty, break and/or malfunction while under warranty the seller, under law, is held liable for their products. The seller may attempt to repair the defective product, but after a reasonable number of attempts at a repair, then the part should be replaced.
'Reasonable' is a tricky word, because it can be interpreted differently by different people. This is usually when the court is brought in to help clarify what 'reasonable' should mean in a case by case matter. This is one of the reasons why there are so many California Lemon Law lawyers. They help the make the case to the judge of what is 'reasonable'
Most reputable companies will honor their warranties, but when they do not there are plenty of lawyers who are ready to be hired to help out Lemon Law victims.
